Al Blackadar EMS Scholarship Fund
In 2017, his Waldo County emergency services colleagues established the Al Blackadar EMS Scholarship Fund in his memory to provide scholarship assistance to support the further education and training of Waldo County residents who are EMT personnel seeking to become paramedics. The application process is through EMCC. Eligible applicants will be enrolled at Eastern Maine Community College and will be licensed EMTs seeking further training to become paramedics. It is the donors' hope, though not a requirement, that recipients will return to Waldo County to pursue their profession in this county.

Dr. Allen M. Small and Phillips Williams Scholarship Fund
This scholarship provides support to graduates of Mt. View High School for post-secondary education with a preference for residents of Freedom.

Ansley Bell Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 2007 in memory of Ansley Bell, this scholarship fund provides support to residents of Islesboro, Maine, pursuing an education.

This fund was established in 2010 in memory of Ansley Bell to provide scholarship assistance to Islesboro, Maine, residents attending Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center.

Bettie H. MacRae Scholarship Fund
The Bettie H. MacRae Scholarship Fund supports year-round residents of Islesboro, preferably female, age 23 and over who are pursuing career-related post-secondary education. This may include online coursework, professional training and /or certification, college classes, continuing education credits, licensing programs, or any other type of study to enhance and maintain employment. This scholarship is not limited to graduates of Islesboro Central School and is for those students for whom a scholarship would make a significant difference in their ability to attend the program of their choice.
Bettie was raised in Florida and California and lived for many years in Pennsylvania. Later in her life, she found her way to Islesboro and lived on the island for 35 years, initially during the summer and later as a year-round resident. Her life was characterized by a deep interest in arts and culture. She befriended and provided for many. Bettie nurtured a deep love of nature, loved living near the ocean and cultivating a lifelong knowledge and appreciation for trees, plants and flowers. This memorial scholarship fund is created by Bettie's three children, Pamela, Charlotte and Christopher, and is directed to the year-round community of Islesboro in appreciation for the many quiet kindnesses of friendship offered to Bettie over the years.

Carl and Gwendolyn Hammar Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Hammar Scholarship Fund was founded in 1986 to provide scholarship support to residents of Islesboro who are graduating seniors or recent graduates of the Islesboro Central School and are enrolled in an accredited community college, or have been valedictorian of their high school graduating class and are enrolled in an accredited college, university or community college.

To support residents of Islesboro and / or graduates of Islesboro Central School who are 23 years of age or older pursuing projects and courses of study intended to help them focus on and further a life passion.

Dorothy Kinnicutt Parish Scholarship Fund
The Dorothy Kinnicutt Parish Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 to provide scholarship support to current and past graduates of Islesboro Central School pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited college, university or community college.

George Stewart Trust Fund
The George Stewart Trust Fund was established in 2012 to support residents of (in order of priority): Town of Lincolnville, Waldo County, Knox County, who are pursuing post-secondary education, with preference for students in the field of horticulture. If no eligible applicants in that field apply, preference may be waived. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need and a record of scholarship adequate for the educational program they have undertaken.

Ira Cobe Scholarship Fund
The Ira Cobe Scholarship Trust was established by the estate of Chicago financier and longtime Bayside summer resident, Ira M. Cobe. Mr. Cobe and his wife, a Belfast native, had a deep affection for Maine's young people. The fund provides support in meeting certain educational expenses of residents of Waldo County under the age of 23 who meet income eligibility criteria.
Cobe College Program supports students under the age of 23, living in Waldo County, who are pursuing post-secondary education. Students in their second, third, and fourth year of post-secondary school who might not have access to high school scholarship awards available to first-year students are encouraged to apply.

Cobe Connects is a partnership with eligible students to support school-sponsored, curriculum-based, educational opportunities during the academic year for which funding is not otherwise available. Maximum award is $500 ($250 for class trips) and each applicant is expected to share the cost of the opportunity. Preference is for students who have not received a Cobe Connects award in the current academic year. Eligibility is based on the guidelines on the application. Curriculum-based educational opportunities include but are not limited to: enrollment in an early-college program; participation in class trips (maximum award $250); purchase of educational supplies; and summer school tuition. Please contact the Maine Community Foundation if you have questions concerning a specific opportunity. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis and awards will generally be made within seven days of receipt of the application. Awards are not retroactive. Payment will be made to the school sponsoring the program/activity.

Islesboro Combined Scholarship Fund
The Islesboro Combined Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarship support to graduates and students at Islesboro Central School. The fund is a memorial to Katherine Mitchell Gray, Joseph and Lavina Durkee, and Bobby and Barbara Pendleton.

Islesboro Teachers' Association Scholarship Fund
The Islesboro Teachers’ Association Scholarship Fund was established in the 1994-95 school year. The fund supports graduates of or graduating seniors of Islesboro Central School who are pursuing post-secondary courses of study. Applicants must be permanent residents of Islesboro. Magnet students must have attended three consecutive years at and graduated from Islesboro Central School.

Jason Kneeland Scholarship Fund
The Jason Kneeland Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 to provide scholarship support to graduates of Searsport District High School who reside in Stockton Springs, have attended Searsport District High School for at least their junior and senior years, and are pursuing post-secondary education at a two- or four-year college or university.

Julie Bea Dutch Marriner Scholarship Fund
The Julie Bea Dutch Marriner Scholarship Fund supports a female athlete graduating from Belfast Area High School who is pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited college or university.

Lawrence and Louise Robbins Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is for employees or retirees of the Robbins Lumber Company of Searsmont or their children or grandchildren to pursue post-secondary education. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, personal aspirations, and contributions to school and the community.

Lewis (Gene) E. Weaver Scholarship Fund
Gene Weaver was a long-time businessman on Maine Street in Belfast, owning and operating Weaver’s Bakery for more than 40 years. He was a great believer in higher education even though he never was able to go further than the 12th grade. All three of his children attended post-secondary education. Two of his children and two of his grandchildren attended community colleges. He felt strongly about the vocational college system and supporting students who want to attend Maine community colleges. This fund provides support to graduating seniors at Belfast Area High School who are pursuing post-secondary education at a community college in Maine. If there are no eligible recipients in any given year then the scholarship may be awarded to students attending a four-year college or university in Maine.

M. Alton French Scholarship Fund
This renewable scholarship assists deserving young people who are residents of Lincolnville, Camden, Hope, Appleton, Rockport, Northport, and Islesboro (in that order of priority) pursuing post-secondary education at a college or university or other post-secondary course of study that is determined to be the equivalent. The grants shall be made on the basis of financial need, record of scholarship and promise of leadership. An interview on the last Saturday in June is required of new applicants.

Mount View Fund for Further Education
The Mount View Fund for Further Education provides scholarship assistance to deserving graduates of Mt. View High School pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities.

Paul D. Hamilton Sr. Scholarship Fund
The Paul D. Hamilton Sr Scholarship was established in 2023 by his family to provide scholarships to graduating seniors of Waldo County Technical Center pursuing a post-secondary education in the construction trades.

Ruth P. Field Scholarship Fund
The Ruth P. Field Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 to provide scholarship support to graduates of Islesboro Central School who are either graduating seniors and residents of Islesboro requiring financial assistance to pursue full-time technical or vocational education or graduates who are residents of Islesboro and who require financial assistance for second, third, or fourth years of technical or vocational education.

Scott Grindle Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 2015, the Scott Grindle Memorial Scholarship fund provides scholarship assistance to a student in grades 9-12 at Islesboro Central School who is pursuing an interest in the arts.

Suzanne Kenoyer Bolduc Memorial Scholarship
The Suzanne Kenoyer Bolduc Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide support to graduates of Islesboro Community School wishing to pursue post-secondary courses of study at an accredited college, university, community college, or vocational/technical school. Recipients will be chosen based a demonstrated commitment to academics and extracurricular activities, a sincere bond to community and school, a positive attitude filled with integrity, and a true spirit of leadership in service to others.

Sylvan Edward Walton Scholarship
The Sylvan Edward Walton Scholarship was established to provide support to graduating seniors of Belfast Area High School who are pursuing a post-secondary education, and have shown extraordinary commitment to their school, work and community and will continue to excel in college. Eligible applicants will have participated in the Peer Leadership program at Belfast Area High School.

Waning Faust Forestry & Agriculture Scholarship Fund
MaineCF partners with the University of Maine and the University of New England to offer the Waning Faust Forestry and Agriculture Scholarship. Eligible students at UM are juniors or seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5, from Waldo or Kennebec counties, majoring in either forestry or agriculture. At the University of New England, eligible students are sophomores, juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5, who are involved in the American Chestnut Restoration Project at UNE, with a preference for those students who have graduated from a Maine high school.
