MaineCF welcomes new staff

Tom Janenda

The Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) recently welcomed three new staff members. Tom Janenda will serve in the new role of vice president of communications and marketing. Triona O’Connor is the assistant to the president and Siana Emery is the scholarship outreach associate.

Janenda is a member of MaineCF’s senior leadership team and is responsible for development and oversight of comprehensive communications and marketing strategies.

Janenda has decades of national and statewide experience as a senior communications strategist. He served as deputy White House communications director under President Clinton and has led communications in values-based, mission-driven organizations across the business, political, advocacy and nonprofit sectors, including at Tom’s of Maine.

Triona O'Connor

O’Connor provides comprehensive support to the president and CEO and ensures effective functioning of the foundation’s operations. She coordinates communications to and from the president’s office and serves as liaison between the president, management team and board of directors.

O’Connor has extensive experience in CEO office management, board relations and fundraising. She previously worked at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems in Washington, D.C. Most recently, O’Connor was the grants and business development manager at Catholic Charities of Maine.

Siana Emery

Emery was a scholarship outreach intern before being hired full time this fall. She works in the community promoting MaineCF scholarships and provides administrative support to the scholarships program. Emery previously worked as communications and operations coordinator at Hilltop Alliance in Pittsburg. She is a graduate of Goshen College and Greely High School.
