$98K will support LGBTQA+ organizations

MaineCF awarded $60,000 in grants from its Equity Fund to strengthen lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) organizations in Maine. Donors with advised funds at MaineCF made an additional five grants totaling $37,500.

Grantees include:

  • Downeast Rainbow Alliance, for its Traveling Rainbow Project, which creates affirming spaces at schools, community centers, and local events that connect vulnerable youth with resources from community partners
  • Equality Community Center, to develop and implement programming that engages people to build community and create opportunities for collaboration and action
  • Maine Transgender Network, to make Maine a place where transgender people can thrive in their communities. (Listen to our podcast with MaineTransNet’s Quinn Gormley)
