MaineCF awards grants to 23 Greater Portland nonprofits

MaineCF has awarded 23 Greater Portland nonprofits a total $133,055 in grants through its Rines Thompson Fund.

2022 grantees include:

  • Classical Uprising, for its 2023 Portland Bach Experience festival
  • Maine Historical Society, for its exhibit “Code Red: Connecting Natural History Collections with Climate Change”
  • Youth Led Justice, to divert youth from Maine’s juvenile justice system, train youth leaders in restorative justice and connect youth with mental health support.

The Rines Thompson Fund was established in 1999 by the children and grandchildren of Henry P. and Adeline B. Rines to benefit the people of Greater Portland. The next grant cycle opens Sept. 15.
