MaineCF's Downeast Innovation grant program awarded $60,000 to six nonprofit organizations that provide programs to support or increase entrepreneurship and innovation in Hancock and Washington counties. Two additional organizations were awarded $20,000 from donor-advised funds held by MaineCF.

The grant program, which ended in 2021, was part of the foundation's strategic goal work on entrepreneurs and innovators. While the grant program has ended, the initiative's peer learning group, Downeast Innovation Network, is ongoing.
