Donor Services — Partnering with Donors

Since 1983, the Maine Community Foundation has worked to improve the quality of life in our state. We accomplish this mission through developing active partnerships with donors and others who believe, as we do, that positive change can occur through effective charitable giving.

Today, the Maine Community Foundation manages more than 800 charitable funds established by individuals, families, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The Maine Community Foundation offers easy ways to help you make a significant difference with your giving.

By partnering with the foundation, donors receive the tax advantages of a public charity combined with the personal recognition, involvement and flexibility of a private foundation. Donors also gain access to the highest level of strategic thinking on ways to meet community challenges.

Foundation donors understand that Maine is more than a place — it is a home. With that recognition comes a deep sense of responsibility, and a belief that each of us can make a difference.

Donor Services

The Maine Community Foundation offers a range of services to help donors fulfill their philanthropic goals.

We provide donors with professional grant and gift processing, as well as investment services. We also assist donors in being effective philanthropists.

As part of our donor services, we commit to:

• Maintain an investment program that preserves and enhances the real value of the funds over time
• Provide accurate and timely information about gifts made to MaineCF
• Respond to inquiries and correspondence promptly
• Understand the needs of Maine communities
• Offer fund advisors and other MaineCF donors opportunities to collaborate with other advisors and donors
• Recognize the community spirit of our donors
• Respect donor's rights (see: MaineCF Donor Bill of Rights)
