Strengthening the Communities of Maine

Welcome to the Maine Community Foundation website. Celebrating its 25th year in service to the people of the State of Maine, the foundation currently manages $245 million in charitable assets, made up of more than 850 funds established by individuals, families and businesses. We awarded $16 million in grants and scholarships in 2007.

Since 1983, Maine people and their professional advisors have relied on the Maine Community Foundation to help them turn their charitable passions into meaningful and effective philanthropy.

You can use this website to find out how to become a donor, how attorneys and other advisors can help their clients by working with us and how to apply for a grant or scholarship. You can also learn about our grantmaking and what it has accomplished. Then we hope you’ll contact us to find out more.
