Helen McCain, Administrative Assistant
Helen works in the Portland office and is responsible for day-to-day management and assisting Portland staff in program, advancement and donor services work.

Amy Pollien, Assistant to President and Program
Amy's provides administrative support for program department and the CEO. She is one of the first points of contact for prospective grantees.

Henry L.P. Schmelzer, President and CEO
Hank is responsible for management of the organization and working with the Board of Directors to guide the organization to achieve its mission.

Timothy Williams, Receptionist and Office Assistant
Tim manages the front desk in the Ellsworth office. He also performs a wide range of clerical and administrative duties.

Financial Services & Technology

Lorre Webster Ames, Accountant
Lorre’s focus relates to the donor fund side of the accounting system. She ensures that all transactions are accurately posted to appropriate donor funds.

Karen Allen-Maguire, Finance Assistant
Karen handles accounts payable, payroll and coordination of human resources.

Jim Geary, Vice President, Finance and Administration
Jim is the chief financial officer and is responsible for technology, budget oversight, investment committee staff liaison, human resource and building maintenance functions. Jim also oversees the nonprofit endowment fund program.

Liana Kingsbury, Grants Manager
Liana manages the grants database and processes grant awards. She is the point of contact for questions regarding donor-advised grants. She works in the Portland office.

Charles Proctor, Information Systems Administrator
Chuck is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the foundation's computer network, including software and hardware systems, Internet access, Web page updates and network security.

Gail Richardson, Director of Finance
Gail is responsible for the design and maintenance of the accounting system and for financial reporting. She oversees the daily operations of the finance department.

Grantmaking

Ann Marie Bartoo, Regional Coordinator
Ann coordinates grantmaking, development and donor service activities for MaineCF in Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin and Somerset counties.

Pam Cleghorn, Senior Program Officer
Pam is assistant secretary to the board, supports several competitive grant funds, and works with current donors. Pam is in the Portland office.

Lelia De Andrade, Senior Program Officer
Lelia works at MaineCF's Augusta office. She is responsible for managing special grantmaking programs and initiatives, including the People of Color Fund and the Equity Fund.

Elizabeth Fickett, Scholarship Funds Assistant
Liz provides administrative support to the scholarship funds manager and program staff.

Cherie Galyean, Regional Coordinator
Cherie coordinates grantmaking, development and donor service activities in the midcoast and Downeast regions and staffs the Knox, Waldo, Hancock and Washington County Committees. She also staffs the Maine Charity Fund.

Meredith Jones, Vice President, Program Development and Grantmaking Service
Meredith is responsible for MaineCF's portfolio of grantmaking and initiative activities. She works in the Augusta office.

Garrett Martin, Director, Program Strategy
Garrett leads MaineCF's efforts to evaluate and improve the impact of its programs. He also supports the development of new programs and staffs MaineCF's Noyce award and the Maine Policy Scholars program. He works in the Augusta office.

Bethany Murray, Competitive Grants Associate
Bethany is responsible for administrative aspects of the competitive grantmaking process. She is often the first point of contact for grant applicants.

Laura Reed, Regional Coordinator
Laura coordinates grantmaking, development and donor service activities for MaineCF in Piscataquis County.

Pam Scheppele, Regional Coordinator
Pam coordinates grantmaking, development and donor service activities for MaineCF in Aroostook County.

Peter Taylor, Director of Community Investment
Peter works in MaineCF's Augusta office. He is responsible for managing the foundation’s competitive grantmaking and regional programs.

Jean Warren, Scholarship Funds Manager
Jean staffs MaineCF's scholarship program as well as several special funds related to youth and/or education. She works closely with donors interested in creating scholarship funds.

Karen Young, Regional Coordinator
Karen provides primary staff support to the York and Cumberland County committees, facilitating grantmaking, development and donor service activities in those counties.

Philanthropic Services/Advancement

Karen Hartt, Philanthropic Services & Research Coordinator
Karen manages the MaineCF constituent database, provides research reports on prospects and supports other aspects of philanthropic services, communications and marketing.

Marty Huckins, Database Assistant
Marty works in philanthropic services entering gifts into the database as well as stewarding new funds through the system and other special data entry projects.

JaneA Kelley, Marketing and Communications Associate
JaneA has primary oversight of electronic communications, including web content and eNews, and serves as assistant editor for MaineCF’s newsletter, annual report and other publications.

Carl Little, Director, Marketing and Communications
Carl oversees the foundation's marketing and communications programs, including its publications, web page, media relations, advertising and direct mail.

Ellen Pope, Vice President, Philanthropic Services
Ellen leads the philanthropic services department, working with prospective and current donors to establish new funds and build existing ones.

Jennifer Southard, Director, Philanthropic Services
Jennifer identifies and works with prospective donors, provides services to current donors and oversees outreach and service to professional advisors. She works in the Portland office.

Laura Young, Vice President, Advancement and Regional Networks
Laura is located at MaineCF's Portland office and helps philanthropic individuals and groups give through MaineCF. In addition to her work engaging MaineCF board of directors and county advisors in outreach efforts, she is also the staff coordinator for the Cumberland County Committee.
